Rajani LaRocca was born in India, raised in Kentucky, and now lives in the Boston area, where she practices medicine and writes award-winning novels and picture books. She’s always been an omnivorous reader, and now she is an omnivorous writer of fiction and nonfiction, novels and picture books, prose and poetry. Red, White, and Whole, her middle-grade novel in verse about heritage and fitting in, science and poetry, mythology and music, holding on and letting go, published in February 2021 with Quill Tree Books/HarperCollins. It has received multiple starred reviews and is a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection and an Indie Next Top Ten title.
